This is another shoot that I originally planned to be a part of my short film. I planned a long time in advance that it would be among bluebells to create a dreamy, fairytale setting. I wore a silk nightgown and robe to add to the dream feel of the shoot as if I had woken up among the bluebells.

 

I wanted this shoot to show the isolation that comes with growing older as each struggle you must deal with alone, no matter how much support you have. I tried wrapping my arms around myself as I was cold and I wanted to show vulnerability and then I crouched down and pulled at my back exposing my pale skin again adding to the sense of vulnerability and loneliness. 

 

Having my own arms grab me is an idea I used before in my shoot ‘iridescent bliss’ and I chose to use it here as I like that it alienates your arms from your body and gives the impression that something else uncontrollable is grabbing at you.

 

One of my favourite images from the shoot is me clawing at the polyethene as if I am trapped behind a veil trying to get back to reality or wake up. A lot of my imagery is quite disturbing but I think it also holds a spectral quality.
