The Walkway

I took the opportunity of the snow to go out and take some photos with the assistance of my dad. I wanted to make myself appear isolated in the snow storm. I first chose to take some photos under a tree that goes underwater when it rains as I think being in the water reflects the distance from reality that I wanted to embody in this shoot. I almost blend into the background with the hazy quality of the image and I like the monochrome edits best as they give a timeless feel to the images.

I then came to the pathway that I walk along most days which is where I took the majority of my images. I have always liked that the path guides the eye towards the horizon which in the case of these photos is the blizzard that obscures most of the image. I chose to face perpendicular to the camera so that my hair would cover my face and the dress and coat would be swept up by the wind. I wanted to be a part of the blizzard as in that moment you feel disconnected from the world while the freezing cold keeps you grounded to reality.
