How Glad I Am

This is a road I travel down often when visiting my brother. It goes across hills and every time I go down it I take a photo. On this occasion I decided to film it as it looked simulated with the curves in the road, the bright greens and the perfect blue sky. I titled it ‘ How Glad I Am’ after the song by Aretha Franklin as that is what I was listening to whilst driving down this road. I think the result is a timeless loop. On reflection it reminds me of the opening scene in The Shining by Stanley Kubrick where you are following the family in their car through the mountains yet there is a sense of impending doom due to the music and the sense they are being followed.
