Motion Picture

Originally I had planned for this to be a part of my short film but after taking some videos I realised that i could get better results from taking photographs instead. I went to Dungeness for this shoot as it is a very interesting location with lots to see. It has the nuclear stations and lighthouses and the roads surrounding it are unusually quiet which contributes to my themes of isolation, dissociation and the passing of time.

I took some images of the nuclear station and one of the lighthouses then I moved to the beach where I took portraits with the polyethene. The wind was so strong I could barely hold onto the plastic sheet. I wore ‘professional’ clothing as a nod to my potential future and red eye makeup to contrast with my pale skin.

I then changed into more casual clothes consisting of flared jeans and a sixties style red coat which completely changed the shape of my body and stood out in contrast to the greens and greys behind me. It also acknowledges the deserted roads as I was able to take these pictures, with the help of my dad, uninterrupted.
